HAVING FAITH THAT GOES BEYOND BORDERS
What is faith without borders? Is it possible to have faith that looks beyond all borders? What is a border?
Define border:
In the dictionary, A border is a line separating two countries or other areas, administrative divisions or other areas. or simply the edge along or besides something. What is that border you feel you can’t beyond. People have created borders in their lives; I can’t pass my exams, I can’t preach the Gospel, I can’t enjoy a good marriage.
When you confess these things, you create a border that divides your life of failure, ordinary and that successful life God has planned for you and that border now becomes permanently created and ushered by your words and actions.
What is faith
It is the complete trust or confidence in something or someone. I have a confidence that an airplane can get be to the USA In time and safely. What makes you say this because you know its abilities? It has never disappointed you.
Faith comes from a root word PISTIS and ‘believe’ the verb is PISTUO, root word from which we get 'faith, the noun is PISTIS, and 'believe', the verb is PISTUEO. FAITH is the belief, firm persuasion, assurance, firm conviction, faithfulness. Hebrew 11:1-Faith is confidence in what we hope for and the assurance that the lord is working, even though we cannot see it. Faith knows that no matter what the situation or the border, in our lives or someone else's that the lord is working in it. Why because he has said in his word that there is nothing too hard for him, that he gives us power to create wealth and that he is the father to the fatherless. So if he has said it what can make him lie? The bible says he is not man that he can lie (Romans 3:4), In proverbs 30:5 it says every word of God is pure.
Faith is the connecting power into the spiritual realm, which links us with God and makes Him become a tangible reality to the sense perceptions of a person. Faith is the basic ingredient to begin a relationship with God
It is the second aspect of being converted from a sinner to a believer from repentance. It tells that we are no longer sinner when we believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins redeeming us with his love. It is that which connects us to our salvation.
It is the act whereby a person lays hold of God's resources, becomes obedient to what He has prescribed and putting aside all self-interest and self-reliance, trusts Him completely. It is an unqualified surrender of the whole of one's being in dependence upon Him. It is wholly trusting and relying upon Him for all things. It is not just mental assent to the facts and realities of truth, it must come from a deep inner conviction.
Faith is when you are pregnant and not sure that a child will be born out of you but you don’t know hope- you trust God. Faith is when they tell you, you will not Go anywhere in life, but you say NO of course I will go somewhere because you know why, God Is the one who works in me to will and to act in order to fulfil his every good purpose Philippians 2.13. faith is when the doctor tells you, you have cancer and you tell yourself that I am healed and you replace that border between cancer and healing.
HOW CAN YOU BUILD FAITH?
1. Hearing the word of God(Romans 10:17), In fact faith comes through hearing what the word of God tells. Knowing GOD through his words is what builds confidence in him. The more you get to know him the more you realise what he can do in your life.
2. Practising the word of God. Meditating on the word of God, Holding to what he has promised in the bible and speaking it back to every situation guarantees our triumph. Daniel 11.32b. Those who know their God will do exploits. Faith build your confidence in God.
3. Experience and personal conviction. Because he didn’t fail Time, what can make him fail now. he can’t fail. The more you experience God’s miracles, the more your faith builds.
4. Testimonies: hearing about the supernatural deeds of God in other people’s gives you that guarantee that if he did it for my neighbour he will do it for me. If the word of God produced these results in my pastor’s life, it will do the same.
Faith is the very aspect of our living as Christians, we don’t move by sight but faith because we can’t see God but we believe he exists. Every Christian needs to live by faith.
